Each year, the IFFL will honour one major Indian film personality with a retrospective of his/her work.
The inaugural edition of the IFFL will host a retrospective honouring the work of the Indian filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Currently filming his international debut feature Broken Horses with Hollywood star and Academy-award nominee Micky Rourke, Chopra is one of India's most original and successful filmmakers. Chopra heads one of India's most successful studios, and his recent production, 3 Idiots (2009), starring Indian superstar Aamir Khan, set a record as the highest-grossing film in India's box office history.
